I'm really happy to share some of the work I did for Assassin's Creed Shadows: Claws of Awaji — I contributed to the threatening atmosphere of Awaji by using only natural effects, such as leaves silhouettes and leaves corridors moving straight toward the player, as if to signal danger.
The biggest challenge was figuring out how to technically trigger and integrate these effects across the island, while carefully considering their placement. Balancing their intensity depending on the game’s regions and the player's progression was a real challenge.
It was very much a team effort — huge thanks to Hugo Marouzé and Grégory Piche for the beautiful smoke silhouette texture and all the investigation work, and to Salomé Strappazzon for her support and valuable feedback throughout this journey!
